Kyra Minturn
KyraMinturn, born August 19, 1965 is an American actress. Her most prominent part is as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick earned a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. After the seventh season Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The show ended on August 13 in 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was awarded an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) as well as What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick, a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was an Episcopalian. She was also of English descent. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish heritage and said that she is a part of Passover seders.
