Jennifer Rene Psaki

Jennifer Rene Psaki (American political advisor) was the 34th White House secretary. She served this role from 2021-2022. A member of Democratic Party, Psaki was previously the White House deputy secretary (2009), White House deputy communication director (2009-2011) and spokesperson for United States Department of State 2013-2015 and White House communications Director (2015-2017). Psaki was a CNN political contributor from 2017 through 2020. Psaki started her professional career with an Iowa Democratic senator, Tom Harkin, and then became the governor of Iowa. Psaki was John Kerry's deputy press secretary in 2004. From 2005 to 2006, Psaki served as communications director for U.S. representative Joseph Crowley as well as the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was back in the political arena in 2012 as the press secretary of President Obama's 2012 campaign. In the year 2000, Psaki was appointed the spokesperson for the United States Department of State. [20] Her hiring in the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney as he left for the White House,[21] but on May 30, 2014 it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. She returned to the White House in 2015 to become the communications director. She remained with the Obama administration until the end of its term.
